Mostar - Bosnia and Herzegovina

Today I have an exciting post to share about Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina!

I've visited this incredible little Eastern European gem twice so far, once in 2010 and again in 2015. My family and I usually make a stop here on our way back from Croatia's beaches as it is located in southern Bosnia & Herzegovina.

Mostar's most popular and well-known feature is the "stari most" or old bridge. It was built during the Ottoman rule and flaunted its beauty for over 400 years until the war in 1993 when it was destroyed.

The bridge was rebuilt post-war and is now at the top of many travelers' bucket lists.

It's no surprise that this city is so deeply desired. Encompassing the old Ottoman feel and a city center filled with cafes and a unique marketplace, there is always something to do.

Plus, Mostar's location is everything. Its only a couple hours away from the Adriatic Sea and is on the way to other hidden gems within Herzegovina. See my Pocitelj and Blagajska Tekija posts!

The view of the old bridge is like that of a castle in a princess fairytale.

You won't be disappointed when you see professionals diving off of the bridge into the cold, clear waters of the Neretva River.

I hope you enjoyed these photos!
